Promoting Local Game Developers and Students
One of my main projects was to create promotion posts for local game developers, studios, and students. Many of the people I featured were people who participated in Global Game Jam in 2025 and showing their projects. This required me to reach out and collect information from each person about their project and themselves.
Comics
One of my big projects for LGDG was to create some original characters and make comics about game development based on scripts I was given. This was a really fun project for me and let me use my illustration skills. These comics are meant to be funny, informational, and entertaining. When working on the development of the these comics, I wanted to make an art style that was cute, simple, and easy for others to be able to copy. I was asked to incorporate a wizard theme to the characters, so I gave them wizard hats with a unique object to represent them.
Updated Avatars
I was asked to update the avatars that the LGDG uses on their website to represent each member of the team. I was given a document with a list of everyone, their role, and some ideas of what to incorporate. Based on that information, I made a sketch of a possible art style to use for it. Once approved, I started sketching out each member and sent them to be approved before continuing with the line art and colouring. I asked each member for their favorite colours so I could use them for each colour scheme. They wanted a wizard theme since they refer to themselves as wizards on their website (ie. Finical Wizard) and they wanted the logo to appear on the hat. I did several versions of what that could look like and we decided on the one logo on the front, which was then also used for the comic characters as shown above.
This was another project that I really enjoyed working on and let me use my skills. I’m glad I was able to work on this and that they trusted me with this project.
